After her retirement in 2008, She enjoyed raising her dogs and cats, buying jewelry that reminded her of her mother, Ruth, and visiting with neighbors and friends who helped her during her trials of illness.

Janis Lorene (Patrick) Welsh wee bit of mischief with her older siblings and friends. She was a 1945 graduate of Richwood High School, and the salutatorian of her class. She remained close throughout life to six of her school friends: Martha Moore, Ruth Eileen Shirk, Betty Simmons, Monie Sellers, Dottie Davis, and Donna Riedmiller. She referred to the group as the “Get-Together Girls” as they had frequent ‘get-togethers’ through the years.
