Born May 28, 1915, he graduated from Parks Air College in 1942 and served in the Air Transport Command for three years and flew the Berlin airlift in 1948 during World War II.
February 1, 1936 he married his wife of 62 years, Ethyl Swartz in Richwood. They moved to Cape Coral in 1974 from Hicksville, New Yorkwhere they resided for 26 years.

Cris always had a smile even though she had many medical difficulties. She enjoyed cross-stitching and being a farm wife. Cris faithfully served on the Richwood North Union Library Board.
