Born January 13, 1924 in Kenton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Virginia (McKenzie) Pifer. She was a former member of the Methodist Church in Richwood, Ohio and had retired from Schoenbrunn Gardens at New Philadelphia where she had worked as a bookkeeper.
