Bertha Mae Shirk
Bertha Mae Shirk, 75, of Prospect died Wednesday morning, April 26, 2006 at Community Healthcare Center in Marion.  She was born June 3, 1930 in Ostrander, OH to the late Harry Orville and Ethel Mae (Overfield) LeVan.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Bible Baptist Church.  Bertha was a sweet and mild person who battled arthritis without self-pity for 50 years.  Because of her relationship with Jesus Christ, she is in Heaven now.

On Feb 7, 1948 she married Thomas A. Shirk, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Tom B. (Rebecca S.) Shirk, Waldo; Leonard R. (Wanda P.) Shirk, Marion; 5 grandchildren, Sherry L., Lindsey K., Chasiney L., Gabriel and Tyler Shirk; 2 step-grandsons, Tim and Chris Braye; 1 brother, Raymond (Annette) LeVan, Sheboygan, WI; 1 sister Edith (Edward) Federer, Sheboygan, WI; 3 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Debbie Federer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, David L. Shirk; 1 brother, 3 sisters and a step-grandchild, Kory Keigley.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect, with Rev. Floyd Radebaugh officiating.  Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 6500 Busch Blvd., Suite 210, Columbus, OH  43229.
