Frank B. Hoffman
Frank B. Hoffman, 88, of Prospect, died Friday evening, April 21, 2006 at Alterra Sterling House.  Born September 30, 1917 in Prospect, OH, he was the son of the late J. Guy and Ocie P. (Rush) Hoffman.  On April 4, 1944, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he married Gladys M. Fyfe.

He was a retired farmer, former chairman of the Prospect Farmer’s Exchange, and lifelong member of the Prospect Baptist Church.  He was a Captain in the Army Air Corps in World War II where served as a B-17 pilot and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1944.

He is survived by one daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jay (Janice) Keller, Newburgh, IN; two sons, William J. Hoffman, Vienna, VA, and Mr. and Mrs. James (Becky) Hoffman, Urbana, OH; one granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. James (Julie) McCallister, Sellersburg, IN; and two grandsons, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Keller, Newburgh, IN and James Hoffman, Rocky Hill, CT; five great-grandchildren, Josiah, Morgan, and Cara Keller, and Hayden and Noah McCallister.  He is also survived by three siblings, Sarah, Jeanette, and Max.

He was preceded in death by Gladys, his wife of 56 years, and siblings, Robert, Melvin, Edgar, Mary, Jessie, Ellen and Wanda.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Baker officiating.  Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council.  Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Prospect Baptist Church memorial fund.  Cards are available at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.ballingerfuneralhome.com.
