Clair S. Zimmerman, 89 of Marion, formerly of the Green Camp area, died Tuesday October 20, 2026 at the Marion General Hospital. He was born May 6, 1937 in Spencerville to the late Stanley and Vienna (Wright) Zimmerman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tom (Susan) Zimmerman and sister-in-law, Marilyn Cashen. Clair graduated from Spencerville High School in 1955. He then graduated in 1964 from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He served our country in the Ohio National Guard. Clair started his professional career working for Davidson Enamel Products in Lima, then the Ohio Agricultural Research & Development Center, Robinson Hybrids Seed Corn Company and his final stop was as a self-employed farmer. Clair was an active part of his community, having served on various boards and different groups throughout the years, Gamma Sigma Delta, (an Honorary Agricultural Fraternity), Wood County Rotary, Prospect Farmers Exchange Board, various church boards, Marionaires Barbershop Chorus, Marion County Noon Kiwanis, Green Camp United Methodist Church and Waldo American Legion. On August 31, 1963 in Toledo, he married Karen (Stout) and she survives. Also surviving are their children, Betsy (Kevin McCarthy) Zimmerman of Dublin and Doug (Deborah) Zimmerman of Liberty Twp. Grandchildren: Veronica (Eric) Ornella and Mason (Emily) Zimmerman Great-Grandchildren: Sullivan Chartian, Eleanor Chartian, Josephine Ornella and Keller Zimmerman Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 27, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Green Camp United Methodist Church. Pastors Josh Freshour and Romeo Velasco will officiate. Friends may call Monday October 26, 2026 from 4-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Graveside services will be held Wednesday October 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville, Ohio. Memorial gifts may be made to the Chapel Hill House, 3260 W.
