Carlton Eugene “Gene” Jenkins Sr., 75 of Richwood, passed away Friday September 25, 2026 at the Marion General Hospital. He was born June 30, 1951 in Kodak, Kentucky to the late Albert Dewey and Winnie (Little) Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by sons, Carlton Eugene Jenkins Jr. and Vincent Alan Thompson, siblings, Carl, Hubert, Milford, MacArthur and Homer Ray Jenkins and Nancy Moore. Gene was a retired truck driver; he had a route for Sims Brothers that took him from Marion to the Honda Anna plant. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Gene loved to fish and was known as a Master Gardner, he took great pride in his home. Even though he could be strict on certain things, he had an easy-going and kindhearted personality. Gene loved watching Gunsmoke. On August 16, 1985 in Marion, he married Ruthellen (Gilliam) and she survives, also surviving are daughters, Audrey Havranek of Marengo and Susan (Rick) Potter of Richwood Grandchildren, Cameron (Imeran Chaddha) Havranek, Cassandra Jenkins-Conkle, Kala (Matt) Robinette, Corey (Shannon) Rose, Christopher (Cynthia) Rose and Shandra (John) Soper Several Great grandchildren Daughter in law, Marsha Moore of Marion Funeral services will be held Friday October 2, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Bishop Eric Ellington will officate. Burial will follow in the Maskill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home in Richwood. Memorial gifts may be made to R.E.A.P.
