Lona Lee Stinemetz, 90 of Marysville, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday September 23, 2026. She was born in Marysville on November 10, 1935, at the home of her parents Kelvin and Flora (Addis) Payne. Her parents preceded her in death, along with her brother, Howard Payne and sister Sharon Burdge. Lona was married to Glenn Stinemetz on February 6, 1955, until his death on May 16, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Douglas (Doug) Stinemetz on September 15, 2016. Lona was a cheerleader and 1953 graduate of Marysville High School. She also served several years as a teenage lifeguard at the Marysville pool. Lona and Glenn ran a family farm for many years, traveled extensively throughout the United States, raised three sons, and enjoyed the company of many friends and family. She was an avid sports fan particularly enjoying those sports played by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as all things Ohio State. The Christmas holiday was one of her favorite times of the year particularly when she hosted large family gatherings. She is survived by son, Greg (Deb) Stinemetz of Marysville, son, Chuck (Annie) Stinemetz of Marysville and daughter-in-law Carol Stinemetz of Sugarland Texas. Also survived by grandchildren Krystal Stinemetz, Tiffany (Beau) Nicholson, Emily (Brian) Stinemetz, Nichole (Kazu) Stinemetz, Austin (Alexandra) Stinemetz, Eric Stinemetz, Colton (Emily) Stinemetz, Alex (Linnette) Stinemetz, and Ellen (Jorge) Martorell. Great grandchildren include Aubry Nicholson, Atley Nicholson, Maddie Berger, Connor Stinemetz, Nate Berger, Haruta Miyachi, Beckett Stinemetz, Owen Stinemetz, Granger Stinemetz, and Lucy Stinemetz. Graveside services will be held Wednesday September 30, 2026 at 12 noon at the Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Private family calling hours will be held. Such good memories growing up with all of you. Your mom I will always remember as my Cub Scout leader and the meetings in your home. The last I saw her was at Parrott’s and she lovingly introduced herself as my den mother. A good mother to you and den mother to me. With all she as overcome with loosing her oldest son and husband and then several health issues, she was the strongest lady I ever meant. Always ready to get out and be with people whether it be to her granddaughters athletic events, eating out or just to grocery! She was a grand lady who lived for her family! She will be missed but now she is home with Glenn! “I will miss you sweet lady”
