Chong Hui Minter, 82 of Richwood, passed away Sunday September 6, 2026 at the Ohio State University Hospital, she is now free from the burdens of this life, held in the love of her family. She has been a resident of Richwood since the early 1970s. She was born June 17, 1944 in Popsong-myon, Yongkwang-Kun, South Korea to Yong Kil and Kuk Sun (Pak) Na. She carried a strong-willed spirit and quiet determination throughout her life. As a young woman, she met her future husband, Charles R. Minter, an American GI, in a moment that became family legend — she traded a promise of a date for him to delete a photograph he had taken of her. They married in 1966 and spent decades traveling the world together, building a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion. She was known for her beautiful gardens which brought color and joy to Richwood for many years. She loved fishing, spending time with her family, and ordering treasures from QVC. Her kindness, humor, and unshakable spirit made her a beloved presence in every room she entered. She leaves her love in the hearts of those she leaves behind, her children, Kyong-A Minter, of Germany, Matthew (Sky Middaugh) Min of Marysville grandchildren, Ashley Min, Marisa Min, Courtney Min and Kaiya Johnson sister, Yong Hui Min of South Korea And her faithful toy poodle, Emma Funeral services will be held Friday September 11,2026 at 12 noon at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Steve Whitaker will officate. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Richwood.
