Visitation:
Rick Lee WilleyConcrete TrowelRicky “Rick” Lee Willey, 70, of Prospect, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2026, at Wayne Health & Rehab in Huber Heights.

A 1974 graduate of Elgin High School, Rick was passionate about his work as a concrete mason, a craft to which he dedicated more than 40 years of his life. He took great pride in his skill, and he loved sharing stories about the projects he worked on and the people he worked alongside. He was also known for his ornery streak, a trait he carried with full pride and one that brought laughter, mischief, and unforgettable moments to everyone around him.

In his prime, Rick enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiles, boating, and fast cars. One thing he never outgrew was how much he loved spending time with his friends. His greatest joy, though, came from his grandchildren. They were the center of his world, and he took immense pride in each of them; he loved to brag about Bodie and Isaac’s athletic abilities and Izzy’s dancing and artwork. Whether celebrating their milestones or teaching them how to shoot a perfect spit wad, he loved them with a full and steady heart.

Rick was born on December 4, 1955, in Marion, to Robert E. and Carol (Edler) Willey. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert. His mother, Carol, survives in LaRue.

Rick is also survived by his daughter, Carla (David) Johnson of Richwood; and his grandchildren, Bodie Johnson, Isaac Johnson, and Isabella “Izzy” Johnson. Additional survivors include his siblings, Eric (Vickie) Willey of Marion and Tessa (Roy Henderson) Willey of New Bloomington, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Prospect American Legion, 308 S. Main St., Prospect, Ohio 43342.

His presence, silly shenanigans, and steady love will be deeply missed.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.

God bless the Willey family!  They welcomed us so warmly when we moved to Prospect in 1979.  Rick was such a kind and generous support to my sister Missy when she came back home and was going through her own medical challenges. I’ll remember his joyful spirit and his compassionate soul.  Sending prayers and love to the entire Willey family.❤️
