Walter Pugh “Wally” Penry, 92 of Radnor, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 23, 1933 in Marion to the late Walter G. and Miriam (Reed) Penry. He was also preceded in death by son, Randy Penry. A 1951 graduate of Radnor High School, he owned and operated the Penry Stone & Readi-Mix plant in Radnor, a family business from 1916 until 2000. Wally was a member of Hiram Lodge #18 F&AM in Delaware, Aladdin Shrine, Delaware Elks Lodge, Romeo Club and the Mid-Ohio Model T Club. He was a founding board member of the Prospect Sun Swim Pool. He served on the State Mental Health Board, Delaware Speech and Hearing, Civil Air Patrol, and enlisted in the National Guard 37th Division. He had an interest in bowling, flying and traveling to the middle east. He took his first solo flight at the age of sixteen. On June 11, 1957 he married the former Carol J. (Landon) at the Prospect Baptist Church, and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Walter Mitchell (Peggy) Penry, Radnor; Jeffrey Scott (Serena) Penry, Delaware, Melissa Marie (John) Seymour, Findlay; eight grandchildren, Walter (Aubrey) Penry, Kerrinda (Richard) Bywater, Krystal (Robert) Heggestad, Erik Penry, Dustin Penry, Brandon (Gina) Penry, Ryan (Felicia) Seymour, and Zachary Seymour; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Prospect Baptist Church with Pastors Andrew Freeman and Deb Moreland officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.
