Earl Allen “Sonny” PriceFlagEarl Allen “Sonny” Price, 89 of LaRue, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born November 5, 1936, in Essex to the late Leo Forrest “Whoopie” and Vida LaVon (Reynolds) Price. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry L. Price; sisters, Elsie Wiley, Inez Emptage, Mary McElroy, and Ellagene Hague; brothers, Glenn “Buddy” Price, Robert “Bob” Price and William “Bill” Price; his granddaughter Skylar McKinniss and his great-granddaughter Jaylynn Adamson.

On July 25, 1977, he married Jill Elaine (Sullinger) Chamberlin and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Rhonda (Ernest) Judd, Bellefontaine; Cindy Price, LaRue; Teresa (Kirk) Richmond, LaRue; Christopher (Rachel) Price, Dayton; Amy McKinniss, LaRue; David (Jennifer) Price, LaRue; and Andrew (Amanda) Price, West Mansfield; his stepchildren, John (Stephanie) Chamberlin, Belle Center; Amy Chamberlin, LaRue; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Earl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. He also worked several years at Tecumseh in Marion while farming in LaRue. Earl later founded Scioto Valley Contractors, where his strong work ethic and determination provided for his family. He continued working until his health no longer allowed.

Earl’s legacy is one of hard work and love for his family. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was devoted to his family, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether he was sharing old stories, lending a hand, or joking with the grandkids, he created memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him so much. He will be forever remembered.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Roger Ruth officiating, followed by military honors conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM.
