Ina May Rinehart, 90 of Ostrander, died at her home on her beloved farm, under hospice care on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026.
She and her twin sister, Nina, were born November 25, 1935 in Union County to the late George R. and Sarah (Rowlands) Jewell. As a child Ina enjoyed playing with her six siblings and the fourteen Drumm neighbor kids. On May 1, 1955 she married her square dance and roller-skating partner, Evert Rinehart.
Ina was the first paid aide at the Broadway School of Opportunity and was included in the groundbreaking ceremony for Harold Lewis Center School in Marysville. It was common for Ina to care for students at her home on the farm when families needed time.
While at home, she enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Farm life kept her and Evert busy growing crops and raising livestock. It was common to see Ina on her John Deere mower with trailer attached doing yard work. She also volunteered with community organizations including functions at Magnetic Pharisburg United Methodist Church where she spent a lot of time in the kitchen. She and neighbor, Mary Rader, spent many hours making her famous potato salad for church events. Also, fair activities including 4-H advisor, and flower show participants were important to her.
Ina was the heart of the family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very important to her. Together Ina and Evert attended many school and sporting events of the grandkids and great grandkids. She loved traveling to see them and enjoyed telling stories of her past visits. Ina also loved get-togethers with extended family at her home. Baking Christmas cookies with nieces and nephews brought families together and created cherished lifelong memories for all.
Ina is survived by her children: Shirley (Jim) Bull of Danville CA, Steve (Vicki) Rinehart of Encinitas CA, Janet Baatz of Delaware and Judy Beery (Mark Black) of Richwood.
Grandchildren: Chris (Carey) Bull, Kelly Bull, Eric Rinehart, Grant (Meghan) Rinehart, Dane (Megan O'Brien) Rinehart, Molly (Corey Hanson) Baatz, Lucas Baatz, Abbey (Neil) Lenox, Cody (Alicia) Beery, Ryan (Dawn Sanders) Black.
Great-Grandchildren: Logan and Ellis Bull, Elijah Rinehart and upcoming baby Rinehart, Weston, Tessa, and Wyatt Lenox, Evert, Will, and Reid Beery.
Sisters: Wilma Jane Miller of Marysville and Peggy Holman of Fredericktown.
Brother and Sister-in-laws: Wayne (Bert) Rinehart of Galion and Sharon (Dave) Doty of Millersburg.
Ina was preceded in death by her husband, Evert Rinehart on December 16, 2021, a granddaughter, Christina Beery and siblings and in-laws, John (Nancy) Jewell, Mary (Laird) Mack, George Miller, George (Virginia) Jewell, Jr., Nina (George "Bill") Nicol and Roy Holman.
Ina's family would like to thank Jim, Hospice nurse for all of his care and walking through this journey with them. Also, thanks to family and friends for their prayers, support, and acts of kindness.
Funeral services will be held Friday June 12, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Magnetic Pharisburg United Methodist Church in Magnetic Springs. Pastor Karl Haught will officiate.
