Brent Junior “Bub” WurtsbaughFishing SunsetBrent Junior “Bub” Wurtsbaugh, 54 of Kenton, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his home. He was born August 20, 1971 in Kenton.

Brent was a 1990 graduate of North Union High School. He worked for many years as a roofer and siding installer. Bub enjoyed fishing with his daughter, Lexi.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra A. (Webb) Hammond, Kenton; his step-father, Don Hammond, Bucyrus; his daughter, Lexi Ann Marie Wurtsbaugh, who lived with him; two sisters, Shannon Douglas, Kenton; Jessica Check, Marion; a brother, Jeremy McCann, Marion; two step-sisters, Brenda Beasley, North Carolina; and Donita Hammond, Bucyrus. He is also survived by six aunts, five uncles, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Junior L. Wurtsbaugh, grandparents, Emmet Junior and Pat Wurtsbaugh, and Royal and Maxine Webb.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joseph Rhea officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, beginning at 5:00 PM.

Bub was a good friend to everyone and a funny sense of humor. I told him he was a big teddy bearhe would laugh and say dont tell anyone, im a grizzly bear. Will miss hearing voice and talking to you. You will be missed deeply. Love ya friend rest in peace.
