 Richard T. Murphy, 59 of Magnetic Springs, died Friday April 3, 2026 at the Ohio State Medical Center.
He was born May 29, 1966 in Elizabeth, West Virginia to the late Harry and Sandra (Tilley) Murphy.
Rick had worked as a machinist for UTLX in Marion and most recently at Magnetic Screw. He served our country in the United States Navy and Army.
Rick tended bar at the family’s bar, Hineys in Magnetic Springs for many years. He was always tinkering with something, ready to fix whatever needed fixed.
Surviving is his wife, Jodie B. Jones of Magnetic Springs, children, Jennifer Murphy of Barnesville, Sandra Murphy of Julian, Pa., Ashley (Tristen) Sessler of Richwood and Terry (Stephanie) Jordan of Richwood.
Grandchildren, Jalyn and Jacob Ison, Timothy Murphy, Rayge Wells, Bethany Jordan, Dominic Sessler and Travis Jordan
Services will be held Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Steve Brown will officiate. Military honors will be given by the Richwood Area Veterans. Friends may call two hours prior, beginning at 5:00 m at the funeral home in Richwood.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, PO Box 122 Richwood, Ohio 43344 to help the family with unexpected expenses.

It's so hard to believe that you are gone crazy Rick. We'll always remember all of the fun times at hineys saloon. You were always fun to be around and we're proud to call you a friend but more importantly family. We love you Rick and miss you fly high buddy
