Dorothy FarringtonHarnessRacingDorothy Jean Farrington, 93 of Longwood, Florida, passed away peacefully November 28, 2025 in Orange City, Florida. She was born on March 27, 1932 in Rushsylvania, Ohio to the late Karl and Irene (Eggleston) Rollins.

Dorothy shared a remarkable life with her husband Dick, built on mutual respect, partnership and devotion. They were married April 18, 1954. Together, they owned and operated a harness racing stable for many years.

Anyone who knew them understood that while Dick had a strong presence, Dorothy was truly the boss. Her legacy continues through her 2 children and granddaughter who proudly carry on the racing business. Dorothy was sassy, strong-willed, loving and always impeccably dressed. She had a gift for entertaining and mentored many people in her life and took them in as her own. She built lasting relationships and stayed in touch with many until she passed.

After retiring Dorothy and Dick remained active and social, working for many years as school crossing guards and at Costco.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Robin Cruise of Anderson, Indiana, her son Richard Farrington of Longwood, Florida, her grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) Husted, Richard (Dominique) Cruise and Bryce Nickells.
Her great granddaughters Emma and Cameron Husted and Evie Cruise, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters.

She will be remembered for the deep love she held for her family, which was evident in every part of her life.

Dick and Dorothy will be laid to rest together on their anniversary at a graveside service, Saturday April 18, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the York Cemetery. Aprel Gordon will officiate. There will be Military Honors for Dick given by the Vietnam Veterans of America #1095.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
