Angel GeertsCatsAngel Geerts, 46 of LaRue, a woman of profound kindness, dedication, and gentle spirit, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026 at her home.

Born on September 1, 1979 in Columbia, South Carolina, Angel was a soul who truly understood the beauty of a simple, purposeful life. She was a woman of rare contentment who never wanted for material things, finding her greatest joy in her home, her family, and her beloved cats.

For the past decade, Angel was a cornerstone of the team at Cinch Home Services. She was remarkably dedicated to her career and took great pride in her work. Her commitment was so unwavering that her supervisors often had to insist she take time off—a testament to her work ethic and the value she brought to her colleagues every day.

Angel and her husband were married on August 16, 2014, in an intimate ceremony in their own backyard in Belton, South Carolina. It was a perfect reflection of her spirit: she didn’t need a grand stage to express her devotion, only the open air and the person she loved most. Though they later moved to LaRue, Ohio, the warmth of that backyard ceremony remained a hallmark of their life together.

While Angel did not have children of her own, her capacity for love was boundless. She had enough warmth to share with everyone who crossed her path. She lived a life defined not by what she sought for herself, but by the steady, reliable love she gave to others.

Angel is survived by her devoted husband, Chris Geerts; her loving sister, Judy Sims; her dear cousin, Lisa; and her cherished feline companions. She was preceded in death by her beloved stepson Conner Geerts; her mother Hazel Hilborn and her father Sam Hilborn. She will be deeply missed by her family, her work community, and all who were touched by her simple, beautiful grace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Homeless to Home Animal Rescue and Cat Sanctuary, 1745 Marion-Waldo Rd, Marion, OH 43302 in Angel’s memory.

Services are pending at this time. When they are finalized, this page will be updated.

While I am sitting here trying to wrap my head around the fact that she was taken so fast and without warning. I can not stop thinking about the countless laughs we shared and how many times this kind woman helped me get through some really tough times. She was a beautiful soul and one of the kindest and caring people I was blessed to get to know and share time with. I loved that she never seemed to meet a stranger, Her laugh and her sassieness unmatched  Tequatl will never be the same without hearing Angel in the background.Chris and Angel shared a love that stories are written about. The love they shared for each other was in my opinion just absolutely perfect. I loved sitting here and hearing them bicker and tease each other, My heart breaks for Chris and her family. I am truly going to miss you my friend.
