Dr. Diana Martin, 74 of Richwood, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and woman of faith, passed away February 16, 2026 surrounded by her family at Memorial Hospital in Marysville after a courageous battle with dementia.
Diana was born in Kenton and raised outside of Richwood, a community that remained close to her heart throughout her life. She shared a life filled with purpose and love with her husband, and children. Family and Education was the center of her world.
She is survived by her beloved husband Ronald Martin, they were married May 26, 1989 at the Union Baptist Church; her children: Danae (Jamie) Marquis of Richwood, Danielle (Enver) Hoff of New Albany, Danara (Zack) Moore of Greenville, Illinois, and Lizzie Martin of Dublin. Diana was a proud and loving grandmother to Moriah, Eden, Jadon, and Achaia Marquis, and Ella and Ivy Hoff. Also, living are her siblings, Paul (Olivia) Hillman of Middleville, Michigan, Dennis Hillman of Wyoming, Michigan and Shaunene VanBuren of Middleville, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Fern Hillman.
Diana dedicated more than 40 years to education, leaving a lasting impact on countless students, educators, and schools. She began her career as an art teacher in Chattanooga, before returning to Ohio where her leadership and passion for learning shaped her path. Over the course of her career, she served as an art teacher, curriculum director, middle school principal, high school principal, and supervisor for Ohio charter schools. A lifelong learner, Diana firmly believed that education never ends. Even during retirement, she continued her own academic journey, earning her doctorate in education just four years ago which was an achievement that reflected her deep commitment to growth and learning at every stage of life.
Diana’s love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was the defining joy of her life. She also found great pleasure in traveling, reading, and spending quiet evenings with a good book or magazine. One of her simple joys was watching the geese at the Richwood Park, moments that brought her peace and reflection.
A faithful member of Union Baptist Church in West Jackson, Diana served her church with dedication for many years. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and sustained her through every season.
Though dementia brought many challenges, it never took Diana’s humor, her deep love for her family, or her devotion to God. Her compassion and care for her students ran deep, and her legacy lives on in the lives she touched as an educator, a leader, a mentor, and above all, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Diana Martin will be remembered for her wisdom, her warmth, her faith, and her unwavering belief in the power of learning and love.
Services celebrating her life will be held Saturday February 21, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Union Baptist Church. Pastor Chris Peria will officiate. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.

I first met Diana as a friendly, talented art teacher in my wife's elementary building. I then worked with her on curriculum committees and she was a very caring and supportive principal in my last years of teaching. Diana lived a full life and now she experiences the peace of God in its fullness. May God's blessings be with you all in this time of loss.

Dianna was a wonderful teacher and principal. When my grandaughter was in Cincinnati Children’s hospital she took the time to drive that far to see her. That meant so much to our family. I pray for peace for your whole family at this time. God bless you💕
