Donald Wesley WasserbeckDonald Wesley Wasserbeck, 84 of rural Richwood, died Tuesday January 20, 2026 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1941 in Kenton to the late Joseph A. and Donna Mae (Houk) Wasserbeck. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Mang.

Don graduated from Richwood High School in 1959. He was a lifelong dedicated farmer. It was a source of pride for Don to be one the first farmers to take his harvest to the elevator. He was also chief mechanic for the family, Don could fix just about anything.

He was a member of the Rush Creek (Essex) United Methodist Church. Don was a 50 yr. member of the former Essex K of P, he had served on the Board at Landmark and had served on the Board of Trustees for Farm Credit.

When his kids were younger, he coached both softball and baseball in Richwood. He was commissioner of the softball league for many years. Don and Vonnie loved to travel, they had been to every state! He loved to fish and camp whenever he could find the time.


Surviving is his wife, Vonnie (Mosher), they were married August 2, 1974 at the Essex United Methodist Church. Also surviving are their children, Donald E. (Bev) Wasserbeck of Prospect, Daniel L. Wasserbeck of Marion, Michael L. Clagett of Prospect, David A. (Tina) Wasserbeck of Gilbert, Arizona and Michelle (Mike) Vassar of Pataskala
11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren

Memorial services will be held Monday February 2, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Rush Creek (Essex) United Methodist Church. Rev. Barbara Jean Pope and Pastor James Christy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.
