Eleanor Marie PetermanRed Rose2Eleanor Marie Peterman, 87 of Richwood, died early Monday morning January 5, 2026 at the Heritage Senior Living in Marysville.

She was born February 20, 1938 in Mt. Victory to the late Robert Wellington and Opal (Bacon) Jolliff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Peterman, they were married September 5, 1981 in West Mansfield and he died May 21, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Ada Jolliff, and siblings, Robert “Bob” Jolliff and Janis Shaner.

Eleanor was an active member of the Richwood First Methodist Church, where she had helped with the personal needs pantry. She enjoyed watching Harness Racing with Gayle, but she loved
her time with her grandkids and family.

Eleanor retired as a corrections officer, she had worked in Marysville, London and retired from N.C.C.I. in Marion.

Surviving are her boys, David “Dave” (Tonja) Beckley of Conway, SC, Douglas “Doug” (Kim Morgan) Beckley of Bucyrus, stepson Bradley “Brad” Peterman of San Angelo, TX, stepdaughter Heidi (Jeremy) Ormeroid of Marysville,
grandsons, Nathen “Nate” (Ashley) Beckley and Nicholas “Nick” (Casey) Beckley
great grandchildren, Aidan (Kelsa) Beckley, Briana Beckley, Everett Beckley, Liam Beckley, Caitlin Beckley and Victoria Beckley.
great great grandchild, Brynlee Beckley
siblings, Marilyn Hubbard of Fenton, DE and Donald “Don” (Wendy) Jolliff of Delaware
step grandchildren, Christopher Peterman and Emily Peterman

Graveside services will be held later this spring at the Hale Cemetery near Mt. Victory. This page will be updated when the plans are finalized.

Miss Ellie was a wonderful lady and she will be sorely missed. I enjoyed seeing her at the pharmacy and will never forget her beautiful smile. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her will surely be saddened by this loss. Prayers for all her family and friends

Prayers of condolence for Doug and Dave and family. I grew up down the road from Dave and Doug. In fact I was their babysitter. I have known Eleanor all of my life. She was always, smiling and very friendly. She will be greatly missed.
