Vaughn P. Atherton, 52 of Columbus, died Saturday morning November 1, 2025 at his home.
He was born July 24, 1973 in Kenton to Larry and Sharon E. (Hause) Atherton.
Vaughn was a 1992 graduate of North Union High School. He had worked for Tracy Carlyle at his restaurants in Richwood and Delaware. He also had worked for Midwest Express.
Vaughn enjoyed hunting and fishing, cooking and both vegetable and flower gardening, he had a bit of a green thumb.
He is survived by his father, Larry Atherton of Richwood. His sister, Suelyn (Kevin) Ackerman of Richwood and their children, Luke (Olivia) Ackerman, Blake (Nick) Pitman and Joel Ackerman
Also surviving is Vaughn’s longtime friend, Kevin Lefevers of Columbus
And many extended family and friends.
Services celebrating Vaughn’s life will be held Saturday November 8, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Grace Chapel House of Prayer, 17935 St RT 739 Richwood, Ohio 43344. Pastor Larry Burchett will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 pm at the church.

Oh, my heart hurts. I loved Vaughn. I first met him many years ago when we worked at Chi-Chi's together. Such a beautiful person inside and out.

Had so many good times in high school with him. We also we got in a little bit of trouble. All good memories will buddy will meet you again in heaven. Rest in peace buddy miss you.
