Luther Francis BucklandPraying HandsLuther Francis Buckland, 91 of rural Marion, died Saturday October 4, 2025 at the Marion General Hospital.

He was born January 15, 1934 in Nitro, West Virginia to the late Dwight Moody and Bertie Alice (Higginbotham) Buckland. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Bill, Robert, Dwight and Christine Buckland, Kathalee Davis, Bethalee Brewer and Juanita Hill Selbe.

Luther was a very hardworking man, and he retired after 36 years at the Eaton Corporation in Marion as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was also well known for his bricklaying skills and his ability to fix just about anything; he also enjoyed woodworking and selling his items at craft shows.
Luther always valued and respected people from any path of life. The Buckland home was always open for family and friends, as Luther loved being with people; especially his loving and devoted family who meant so much to him. Luther and Loraine enjoyed 31 years of wintering in the Bradenton, Florida area, and they loved their time there.

He was an active 67-year member of the Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion, and the 53rd Ave. Church of Christ during their winters in Florida. Luther deeply loved and cherished the Lord and his church family. He was bold in his faith and shared what God had done in his life.

Surviving is his wife, Loraine (Casto) Buckland, they were married May 2, 1953 in Red House, West Virginia, also surviving are their children, Pam (Clyde) Meador of Cairo, Georgia, Debbie (Fred) Van Kirk of Myrtle Beach, SC and Todd (Brenda) Buckland of Marion
Grandchildren, Wade (LeAnne) Shirk, Amanda (Adam) Utzinger, Amber (Matt) Meyer and Austin Buckland
Great grandchildren, Lincoln and Gracie Utzinger, Luke, Ellie, Abby and Jake Meyer and Matti Shirk

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Friday October 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Richland Road Church of Christ. Minister Russell Howard will officate. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 pm at the church.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Richland Road Church of Christ, 535 Richland Rd. Marion, Ohio 43302

Pam, Debbie, and Todd we were neighbors on Fish and Daum rd for our years growing up in Richwood. I have memories of our childhood that are all good. Your Dad was a good guy and I’m sorry for your loss and prayers for your family.

We’re very sorry to learn of Luther‘s passing. He was the kindest, most caring man I know and will be sorely missed sending prayers for Lorraine, Pam, Deb, and Todd in this difficult time. He was certainly one of the good guys.
