Billy Gene MooreFlagBilly Gene Moore, 93 of Marion, died Saturday August 30, 2025 at his home.

He was born November 1, 1931 in Marion to the late Howard Guy and Jane Amelia (Donahue) Moore. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 yrs., Donette Mae (Jackson) Moore, they were married January 21, 1956 in Liberty, Indiana and she died July 15, 2016. He was also predeceased by a brother, Jack A. Moore.

Billy served our country in the United States Navy for four years. He then worked at the former Tecumseh plant in Marion until it closed.

Billy was a huge sports fan, he loved his Ohio Sate Buckeyes. He loved watching old movies, especially westerns. He and Donette loved to travel and listen to country music. Billy loved his family! He will be greatly missed.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Surviving is a daughter, Beverly Jean Terry of Marion; three grandchildren, Jaime (David) Courtney, David A. Luyster, Jr. and Laura (Esbin) Pineda, six great-grandchildren, Ryan McCurry, Kaitlyn McCurry, Sarah Samples, Antonio Pineda, Elena Pineda, and Demarkis Pineda. Great-great- grandchildren, Linkin Zachary and Ariella Jayce.

Services celebrating his life will be held Monday September 8, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home in Richwood. Graveside services will be held Tuesday September 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Price Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors given by the Vietnam Veterans of America #1095.

Akways,enjoyed talking to him. He would share about his work in country western music.  Always positive energy in his younger years

So sorry for your loss.  We got to meet Grandpa a couple times at his Granddaughter Jaime and  Dave’s house.  Such a wonderful man and so upbeat about life.  He will be missed.

What a surprise to see this notice. Jack Moore was a distant cousin and I did not know Jack had a brother. Sorry for the disconnection and for your loss
