From both of us, we are so sorry for your loss of John Ed.  He was truly a loyal member of both the VFW and AL.   He used to bring Sam Chapman to the meetings and anyone else who needed a ride.   He helped for many years with every Veteran detail including opening of the fair ceremonies, funerals, Memorial Day and anything else he was asked to do.  May God rest his soul.
