Theodore G. "Ted" Ebelberger
Theodore G. CrossTheodore G. Ebelberger, affectionately known as Theo, died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on December 20, 1945, in Columbus, Ted lived a full and faithful life devoted to God, family, and his church. He was known for his meticulous financial wisdom, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to helping others find hope and purpose through their own walk with Christ.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ted retired from The O. M. Scotts Company in Marysville and later served as CFO of UCO Industries, where he continued to use his gifts with integrity and purpose before retiring a second time. Yet his greatest calling was sharing the love of Jesus. He often reminded others that faith is not about religion — “Religion is manmade,” he’d say — “but about a personal relationship with the Triune God: Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.”

Ted was a longtime treasurer at Community United Calvary Church (CUCC), where he also loved teaching adult Sunday school. His faith, insight, and humble leadership left a lasting impact on many lives. He also cherished the simple joys of life: golfing with friends, cheering on his grandkids at their many sporting events, soaking up the sun on beach vacations, and hauling his wife Holly, without complaint, to countless horse shows.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Holly Ebelberger; children, Kristen (Bill) LeRoy, Dublin; Kim (John) VandeMark, Gahanna; Karyn (Bob) White of New Albany; bonus children, Erin (Isaac)  Heyne, Coldwater; Tommy (Katie) Ross Jr., Richwood; grandchildren, Jacob LeRoy, Minnesota; Julia and Jenna LeRoy, Dublin; Zoe Van de Mark, Gahanna; JJ Van de Mark, California; Izzy and Lukas White, New Albany; Braxton Taylor and Weston Heyne, Coldwater; Jaxon Ross, Richwood; sister, RoseMary Savely, Reynoldsburg; and a wide circle of friends and church family who were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony J. Ebelberger, mother, Marie Ebelberger, and his brother, Anthony F. Ebelberger.

Funeral services will be held at the Community United Calvary Church (CUCC) on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at the Claibourne Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors given by the Vietnam Veterans of America #1095. Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 7 PM at the church.

In keeping with Ted’s generous spirit and deep faith, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Community United Calvary Church, 273 Race St., Richwood, OH 43344.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences and remembrances may be expressed at www.stofcheck-ballinger.com

Theo’s legacy is one of faith, love, laughter, and the Truth he never stopped sharing — that Jesus loves you, and the relationship He offers changes everything.

Can’t explain the void has been created in my heart. You were such an encouragement to me with your words and random texts.  Always made me feel like I was doing what God called me to do.  We were always on the same page and never once had a disagreement or misunderstanding over financial matters at the church. Your wisdom and heart were perfect to watch over the finances of the congregation.  I will never forget your influence in my life.  I will continue to pastor and strive in the kingdom in your honor.   Holly this separation is only temporary.  There will be a reunion !

Holly I am so sorry for your loss Ted was one of the nicest men I have ever met! He was so sweet & he will be greatly missed & my greatest memory of him was when you guys drove 4 hours to Washington Pa when my brother was on his death bed & Ted took him by his hand and said Johnny if you can hear me squeeze my hand & he did & Ted led him to Jesus! So with the help of Ted I believe my brother is in heaven with Jesus. Ted was definitely a true man of God & we were all blessed to have him in our family! And to his daughters you had a wonderful father sorry for your loss but heaven gained a great guy! Love Aunt Stephanie

Bill and I were so shocked to hear of Ted's passing. He's the one who got Bill started going to Church. Which led  Bill going to Sunday School, giving his life to Jesus and being baptized. I'll always be grateful for that. Our prayers are with you Holly and family. xoxo 💕

I had the pleasure of getting to know Ted while I served on the board of UCO. And my son enjoyed his friendship as a consumer at UCO. Ted was honorable, honest and had all the people in his heart. May he rest in peace and his family know he was truly a friend to all.

Eight years ago we had the good fortune of building our home on the lot next door to you.  Our sales person had told us we would love our new neighbors and she was right. It was such a joy to have you both in our lives. Ted, Your love of Christ shone brightly every day through your loving friendship, and your approach to life.  You were an inspiration to us and we will be forever grateful for having you in our lives.  Tim is missing his good friend and golf buddy and will always remember the good times you shared. I wish we were still next door to look over Holly, but I know your spirit will continue to be with her to comfort her and give her strength. Until we meet again, go in Peace our friend knowing how much you were loved.

Our condolences to the entire Ebelberger family. I was honored and blessed to be adopted and accepted into this family at such a young age of 7. Uncle Ted was such a Stellar Man of God. Honestly, I just felt he’d be around this world forever, as his energy and youthfulness were boundless. What he did for family and friends, co-workers, even those that he just met were such a fine example of being like being the Hands and Feet of Jesus. I loved the deep spiritual conversations we had. Heaven has been blessed by his arrival. Can’t wait to see him again.
