Willis “Willie” Wyeth |
Willis “Willie” Wyeth, 94 of Marysville, passed from this earth and into the arms of Jesus on Sunday February 16, 2025 at his home. He was born February 10, 1931 at the family farm home, in Raymond, to the late Arthur and Martha Jane (Hines) Wyeth.
He married Hazel Irene (Greer) Wyeth on August 19, 1956 and she passed away March 8, 2022. They were blessed with 65 years together.
Willis, a lifelong farmer, was also a well-known horseman who trained and raced Standardbred horses for his career. Most days, one could find him around the farm, in the horse barn or working horses on the track. Willis was definitely a “man’s man” and worked hard all of his life, while also having the gentlest, fun loving and ornery personality with his family and friends. Willis adored his family and always did his best to cherish his time with them.
Early on in his life, Willis chose to follow Jesus and found peace in knowing his final destination would one day be in heaven.
He was quick to share how he loved beautiful music, beautiful sunsets and found joy in the simple blessings of life.
He served in the United States Army in 1954 and 1955 as a gunnery instructor and drove tanks
in his division. He was a part of the atomic bomb testing in the Mojave Desert and often shared what an impact it made on him.
Surviving are his daughters, Trudy (Troy) Gray of Marysville and Trixy (Greg) Queen
grandchildren: Nick (Hannah) Westfall, Olivia (Victor) Lagneaux, Hayley Grimes, Jordan Rico, Julie (Seth) Zeigler and Katie (Matt) Rountree
great grandchildren: Adalynne, Molly, Jude, and Clara Westfall, Corinne, Finley and Ellis Lagneaux, Peyton Rightmer, Jasmine Todd, Jordan Grimes, Emma and Logan Rico.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Audrey (LeRoy) Pyers, Kathleen (Paul) Schaadt and
Florence Wyeth who died when she was a child.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving care of Willie from two dear people, Hospice nurse, Amy Van Hoose and caregiver, Calista Fondren.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 21, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Nick Westfall will officiate. Trudy, Troy and family,
I have some wonderful memories of Jerry and I and Willie and Hazel all the years we spent together not only the holidays but the years we took them to the Farm Science Show every year and riding on the Gulf cart. Willie was always in awe of all the latest and greatest farm equipment as he would reminisce about back in his day farming with the horses.
I have missed those special times together but am so thankful that God has called him home and he is finally at peace with his Lord and Savior.
May God give you His peace and comfort in the days ahead.
Love you

Willie lived life at the fullest. We had many many good conversations at the Greer Family Reunions in years gone by. He and Hazel were so proud of their fine family that they left to carry on their legacy. RIP

💞🙏⭐️Willie's family knew they were always and fiercely loved. His friends knew and were blessed by his presence.
Willie brought intelligence, mental
diversity, a quick (a little bit ornery) wit, a Christian presence, fellowship, and love to any audience, of one or 101 plus!
Now Willie can hug Hazel again💞🙏⭐️
Love, God's comfort, and happy
memories for you all~~~
