Criss Allan Smith

Criss Allan Smith, 63 of Marion, died January 4, 2025 at his home. He was born February 11, 1961 in Delaware to the late David Edison and Evelyn Esther (Myers) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann (Wirick) Smith, they were married January 15, 1999 and she died April 16, 2021. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Dean C. Smith. Criss retired from the Whirlpool Corp. in Marion after nearly 25 years. He had worked at the former Sunray/Raytheon plant in Delaware prior to that. Criss was a very devoted, loving husband to Ruth and they always took good care of each other. He treated her kids as though they were his own. He enjoyed having family Christmases and Thanksgivings at their home, where they loved to watch the little ones open their gifts. They liked spending time at the American Legion in Waldo and watching the Ohio State football games. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn with his John Deere mower, sitting on his front porch or back deck. Criss loved taking care of his little dog "Lea". Surviving are children, Candy (David) Jackson of Galion, Rusty (Amanda) Boyd of Prospect and Jennifer (Cory) Hopkins of Prospect 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren A time to Celebrate his Life is being planned. Burial will take place in the Waldo Cemetery at a later date. The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
