Josephine E. Jenner
Josephine E. JennerElginCometsJosephine E. Jenner, 76 of Prospect, died Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Marion General Hospital. She was born October 11, 1948 in Lawrence County to the late Joe and Mildred Ward.

Jo was a custodian for Elgin South Elementary School in Prospect for 29 years and was affectionately known as “Miss Jo” by the students.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Jenner, whom she married on March 26, 1966; two sons, Brian Allen (Dawn) Jenner, Caledonia; David Lee Jenner, Prospect; a daughter, Lela (William) Sparling, Greenville, South Carolina; and many others who thought of her as a mom; ten grandchildren, Kyle, Logan, Amanda, Gabby, Kiana, Amber, Alec, Cory, Collin, Gavin; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Brenda Bridges, Marion.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect with Pastor David Carlyle officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jo's passing. I can remember being neighbors and our boys growing up together! She was a good friend and we had good times. Prayers and hugs to all the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Joe‘s death. My condolences to Terry Joe was a good friend. She helped me in Child Evangelism and working with the children in good news club so sorry to hear of your lossTerry.

Miss Jo touched so many lives with her cheery disposition as she smiled through her eyes in everything she did. You just couldn’t help walking away from her happy. I am so sorry. She has been a great neighbor for the 17 years we have lived there. She was always so good with my kids. She will be missed. My condolences go to the family.
