James Herbert Coons
James Herbert CoonsFall LeavesJames Herbert Coons, 82, of Richwood, was born on July 18, 1942 in Byhalia, he passed away peacefully on Friday December 20, 2024, at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

James graduated from Byhalia-York High School in 1960 and later attended The Ohio State University School of Agricultural Business. James applied his knowledge and skills throughout his life, contributing to the family farm, working in construction, and excelling as a jack of all trades.

He was the son of Ona Fay (Breese) and Herbert Coons, both of whom preceded him in death. James was also predeceased by his siblings Mary Carey (whose husband Myron survives), Rebecca Jane Coons, and Thomas Coons.

He maintained a special bond with his nephew Douglas Carey up until the day of his passing. James is survived by his three daughters: Penny (Chris Reed) of Columbus, Polly (Kaivan Karimi) of Austin, Texas and Jessica Nicole (Frank O'Brien) of Milan.
He was a proud grandfather to Camille Brasmer, Kaia Karimi, Hali Karimi, and Natalie Schock. James also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. His former wife, and mother of his children, Jennifer (Jolliff) Coons of Marblehead, also survives him.

An avid outdoorsman, James found joy in golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He was a devoted member of the Byhalia Friends Church for several years.

James will be remembered for his resourcefulness
