Boys, I am so sorry to hear of this. She loved you boys so much! I was so honored to have had her for a mentor my first year of teaching. The last time I called her…. She answered the phone..What the hell do you want? I replied that I had taught her better than that.😂She thought I was a scammer. I also told Sally Parrott, after a couple months of teaching with Jane, that I thought she was gruff and grouchy. No one had told me Sally and Jane were good friends. I have a lot of great memories of Jane!

Mrs. Oman was my sixth grade teacher at Magnetic Springs. I lovingly remember her as being a very intelligent lady, an excellent teacher, always perfectly dressed, and just a little firm with us, as she had to be with 30 sixth graders that she was trying to prepare for junior high! May the Oman family find comfort in realizing how many lives she touched and helped to shape. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Jane was a stellar educator, friend, and Christian woman.  She was brilliant, yet humble.  She sent countless notes and cards to my mother, my sister-in-law, Sally Parrott, and undoubtedly countless others. I'm sorry for your loss. Many lives were enriched by her example and kindnesses. May our God of all comfort, be your comfort in the days to come.

Mark, Mike & families, I was so saddened to hear about your mom’s passing.  What an amazing woman Aunt Jane was, especially being the only woman in a household of men.  As a young girl, I remember Jeff & I spending a week on the farm.  My mom wanted me to be with your mom to learn how to cook and particularly learn how to make her pies!  Foolishly, I didn’t because hanging out with my older cousins seemed like a lot more fun at the time. I will always remember her smile and kindness.  Heaven has added an angel!

So sorry to hear of Jane’s passing. my deepest sympathies for the family. When I was hired by North Union, Jane and I taught across the hall top floor of the Claibourne building for two years. She brought in the coffee maker and I supplied the coffee. One of those two years the Simpson’s debuted. Of the five of us sixth grade teachers, Jane was the only one to watch the entire show. Great times!

She served and mentored many lives in the Richwood community.  You didn't get anything by Mrs.Oman and if you did you knew you was in trouble.  Thank you for the dedication you gave to so many children.
