Brian K. ChenaultAirForceBrian K. Chenault, 63 of LaRue, passed away on Saturday September 7, 2024 at his home from injuries sustained in a farming accident. Brian was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on August 9, 1961 in West Jefferson to the late Beulah (Hatten) and Ralph Chenault.
He graduated high school in 1979 and entered the Air Force shortly after. He returned from Basic Training to marry his high school sweetheart, Aleitha (York), before moving to Washington to begin their life together. They had their first child, Brianna, in 1981 and nearly 2 years later welcomed their second, Justin. After serving proudly for 15 years, Brian retired from the military, and they settled back home in Ohio. Brian had a strong faith in God and was saved in his late 20s.

While we lost our most beloved husband, dad, and poppy, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many. While he was quiet and observant to most, he was a master at sarcasm and wit to those who knew him best. He loved big and had a heart for helping others. He served faithfully in his church. There was so much more to him than just husband, dad and poppy - though to us those were his greatest roles - he was also a friend, coworker and colleague, brother, uncle, cousin.

Brian is survived by his wife, Aleitha, they were married December 29, 1979; their children, Brianna (Dave) Liuzzo of Hinckley and Justin (Jenna) Chenault of Richwood; and four grandchildren, Cristian, Kylie, Ellie, and Elijah.
Siblings, Rick, Kevin and Beth Chenault and Terri McFarland

Services celebrating Brian’s life will be held Saturday September 21, 2024 at 4:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue. There will be Military Honors following the service. Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm at the funeral home in LaRue.

Unfortunately I did not know this man for very long.. However this does not mean that he hadn't impacted my life.. I remember he always had a smile on his face when we saw him at church, and was so friendly.. I remember he told me that I was very lucky to have my son Bandon and that God only chose special people to raise special people.. I will NEVER forget him or those words.. My deepest condolences to his family. I know he his now watching and protecting them from the arms of Jesus, just as he did here on Earth..

The last time I spoke to Brian he walked me and my Mom to our car to give us a dozen farm fresh eggs.  I remember how excited I was when I opened the carton and saw they were all different color and sizes.  Brian was one of those people that could impact a life of someone he didn’t know, easily.  My heart goes out to his family. God bless you all. I am so sorry for your loss.

Sleuths Justin and Brianna I’m one of many cousins of Brian. We lived across the street from each other as small kids. My mom was the oldest of her siblings, Brian’s dad, your grandfather was second oldest. Our parents were very best friends forever. I spent just as much time at their home as I did my own. Teri and I like sisters ( Teri the oldest by 12 says). Brian was kind my little brother always tagging along. Gosh Brian grew into an amazing man but he never outgrew his boyish charm. It’s taken me some time to reach out because hearing of his accident has been heartbreaking. I remember the last time I saw him. It was at another family member funeral. He came to me and seeing this handsome young man who face was covered in such a beautiful beard. I didn’t recognize him at first. Then I heard his voice 💕. We didn’t have much time to catch up but we did get to talk and I was happy to hear him talk about his life in LaRue and his family. Then our last hug 💕 I will cherish these memories forever. I’m very sorry 💕
