Raymond F. Rhodes
Raymond F. RhodesFlagRaymond F. Rhodes, 92 of LaRue, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 23, 1931 in Ripley, West Virginia to the late Frank R. and Violet (Bond) Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Miller) Rhodes, they were married February 11, 1955 in Waldo and she died August 16, 2023. He was also preceded in death by siblings, George Rhodes and Susan Huber.

Raymond was a machinist and had worked at the LaRue Water Plant. Raymond had served our country in the United States Army.
He was a talented musician, able to play any instrument with strings. Raymond had played in many different bands throughout the years, he had even played with Ernest Tubbs. He got great enjoyment out of playing at the former Village Kitchen in LaRue with the “Picking & Grinning” group. He had been active with Boy Scout Troop #23 and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are their children, Danny (Susan) Rhodes of Prospect, James (Susan) Rhodes of Marion, Dale Rhodes of LaRue and Lorine Sue (Bob) Grimes of Wheeling, West Virginia
Eight grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Evelyn Rhodes of Denver, Colorado

Funeral services will be held Monday July 22, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue. Pastor Tim Pasma will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home in LaRue. Private family burial will take place in the LaRue Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors given by the Vietnam Veterans of America #1095.
