Marvin G. Porschet
Marvin G. PorschetJohn Deere HMarvin G. Porschet, 94 of Essex, died Thursday evening June 20, 2024 at the Memorial Hospital emergency room.

He was born April 17, 1930 in Plain City to the late Edwin George and Margaret (Fruewald) Porschet. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda J. Porschet, siblings, Ada Drebilibis, Norma Price, Doris Payne and Harold Porschet.

Marvin served our country in the United States Army. He was a longtime, active member of the Rush Creek (Essex) United Methodist Church.
He was a farmer. Marvin also worked for the former Farm Bureau in Broadway, then Landmark and Heritage in Richwood.
He took great pride in taking care of his home. Marvin enjoyed drives around the area, just taking it all in.
He was very generous with his thank-yous, especially for his meals and if you had done something for him during the day.

Surviving is his wife, Joan (Trapp) Porschet, they were married June 21, 1959 in Raymond. Also surviving is their son, Doug Porschet of Richwood.
In-laws, Pattsy Dotson of Magnetic Springs, Ortho “Bud” (Jeannie) Trapp of Marysville and Annette Porschet of Richwood

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Rush Creek (Essex) United Methodist Church. Rev. Barbara Jean Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors given by the Vietnam Veterans of America #1095.
Friends may call Monday from 4-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to Rush Creek United Methodist Church and/or R.E.A.P.

Joan, Doug, and extended Families: Marvin was blessed to have lived a long life. He will be missed by all who knew him. Dave worked with him for years in Richwood at Landmark. My Grandpa Tevis always enjoyed his trips to the feed mill and seeing Marvin. Special thanks for his military service. Sending prayers and love as you celebrate his life. Will forever remember riding my bike over to spend time with Marvin and Joan. Beyond blessed I spent my childhood around them. Love you Joan.

It was a joy being Marvin's pastor for the years I was in Ohio. He was very faithful and I know his presence will be missed. Many blessings to Joan and Doug as they navigate life without this lovely man.
