Jerry G. Cameron |
Jerry G. Cameron, 74 of Richwood passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with kidney cancer. He was born March 3, 1950 in Kenton to the late Clifford and Bertha Mary (Laughrey) Cameron. He lived his entire life on the family farm. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Dale Cameron, a nephew, Jack Rice, and a great-great-nephew, Colin Bass.
Jerry worked at Central Soya in Marion, then he worked at Honda of America where he retired after 29 years. He enjoyed watching TV, especially Westerns, history documentaries, and the news. He also enjoyed reading newspapers.
He is survived by his sister, Jaren (Nick) Sewald, Marion; his brothers, Terry, Gary and Danny (Linda) Cameron, all of Richwood. Jerry was an uncle to Kris (Mike) Bass and their son, Chace (Samantha) Bass and their children, Ellie and Evan; Bryan (Jennifer) Sewald; Cliff (Monica) Sewald and their children, Nathan, Allison, Cameron, Kevin, and Katelyn; Amber (Shawn) Hopkins and their daughter, Anna; Tabithia Cameron Hittle and her children, Gabrielle and Zander; Travis (Kierston) Cameron and their children, Trystan and Kylie; Jason (Jennifer) Rice and their children, Courtney and Ryan.
Jerry was known by everyone who loved him for his quirky sayings. But his favorite expression was the one he used to say goodbye, and that was “Later.” So, on that note, “Later,” everyone.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Andy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.

To the Cameron family. I don’t know if Jerry knew my real name or not. Doesn’t matter he always called me Stubby and yes upon parting it was Later. I periodically think of the Cameron boys and miss seeing them. Worked with Jack at Parrott’s. Gone too soon along with Larry and now Jerry. Till I see him again. Later!!
