Helen Ridge, 95 of Richwood, died Saturday evening May 25, 2024 at Bluebird Retirement Community in Marysville.
She was born November 13, 1928 in Kenton to the late Oliver P. and Gertrude (Schaeffing) Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Ridge, they were married February 1, 1948 at the Essex United Methodist Church and he died March 8, 2020. She was also predeceased by a son, Jerry Ridge and siblings, Marvin and Norman Hall, Pauline Sivey and Irene Weigler.
Helen was a graduate of the Richwood High School. She was a dedicated farmwife, helping out on all aspects of the family farm. She and Ralph were longtime, active members of the Claibourne United Methodist Church.
Helen loved playing games, Mexican Trains, a domino game was a favorite. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Helen was known for her pie baking talents; this will be missed by her family. Helen and Ralph enjoyed many winters in Florida. She really cherished all the family get-togethers with her siblings and their families.
Surviving are her children, Janet Sue (Richard) Walker of Waldorf, Maryland and Thomas (Desiree) Ridge of Oak Park, California
8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren
Graveside services will be held Saturday June 1, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Maskill Cemetery. Dr. Steven Fewell will officate.
