Fred BlockOFred W. “Freddy” Smith, 67 of Richwood, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday April 30, 2024 at his home.

He was born September 28, 1956 in Kenton to the late Tucker and Janet Ann (Zuspan) Smith.

Freddy was a lifelong resident of Richwood. He graduated from North Union High School in 1975 and went on to study auto mechanics and welding in Nashville, TN. However, Freddy was most known for his fierce love of and loyalty to his family, both near and far.

He is survived by his two sons, Tucker (Shavon) Smith of Radnor and Paul Smith of Bellbrook
Siblings, Greg (Marjorie Williams) Smith of Sylva, North Carolina, Juli (Frank) D’Ascendis of New Jersey, and David (Jim Fitzgerald) Smith of Folcroft, Pa.

Tucker, Paul, and the Smith family, I am shocked and saddened to read of Fred's passing. NU Class of '75 has lost another good guy too soon. At church, he used to sit with my mom and aunt. They enjoyed talking to him, plus I could tell they were thrilled to receive attention from a "young and handsome man", as they said of him! Fred was a nice guy who will be missed by many. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Fred.

Fred and I shared the last same name in high school.  We always told everyone we were siblings and it was fun to play this game together.  Fred and I stayed friends for a long time and then we started our own families and life took over.  To Fred's family, please know he was always kind and respectful to me. We enjoyed "hanging out" and just being ourselves. May you find peace in his passing, knowing he is surrounded by love.  I'm so sorry for your loss and hope you will find the peace you need at this time.  Blessings!  Karin-Smith-Combs
