Patricia Bird HummingbirdPatricia "Patty" Ann Robinson, 97, died peacefully at her home on April 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Richwood on April 30, 1926, to Zerah and Effie (Daniels) Cramer. Even as she approached her 98th birthday, she lived her life to the fullest and will be dearly missed.

Patty spent much of her childhood at her grandma Susie’s and enjoyed roller skating and riding her bicycle around the Richwood community she loved so much. She graduated from Leesburg-Magnetic High School in 1945, then married her high school sweetheart, Max Robinson, in Green Lake, Wisconsin, on August 28, 1947, in a double ceremony alongside their best friends, Leroy Cunningham and Emma Louise Rausch. They were married for 72 years.

Max and Patty built their lives around their first home, which became the family farm. They were service-minded and deeply devoted to their community. With unwavering loyalty to her family and an iron will, Patty set a high standard for herself as the matriarch of the family, a role she exemplified with her wisdom and unconditional love.

Not only was Patty a dedicated farmwife, she also worked as the Clerk of the Municipal Court for 32 years. She was instrumental in guiding the young lawyers in Union County, and retired in 2000.

She enjoyed the little things — shopping sprees with Emma Louise, lunch at McCarthy’s Drug Store, Friday nights at Old Town Inn, card club, spontaneous visits with Sally and friends, daily outings with Beth to socialize, tailgate suppers during harvest, late-night movie marathons, cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, calls from friends near and far, sitting on the porch watching the birds, the color pink, and a tidy house — but nothing she treasured more than time spent with her family. She absolutely cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a master at creating the most magical Christmases for her family.

Patty will be remembered for her strong will, tender heart, good humor, hard work ethic, and infectious joy that would light up a room. She was a lifetime member of the Pharisburg United Methodist Church.

Patty is survived by her children, Beth Marshall and Jeff (Julie) Robinson, grandchildren Amy (Bob) Hartman, Ashley (Rob) Thompson, Erin (Jared Leibold) Robinson, Lindsey (Joe) Altizer, Hailey (Will) Rorie, Marc Marshall, McKenzie (Nathan) Price, and great-grandchildren Gianni and Max Russo, Marissa Hess Marshall, Addison and Quinn Altizer, Graham and Griffin Thompson, Liam and Macklin Rorie, and Levi, Micah, and Luke Price. She is also survived by a brother, Bob Cramer of Kansas City, Missouri, sisters-in-law Phyllis Cramer, Mona Robinson, and Ruth Robinson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, brothers Billy and Danny Cramer, son-in-law John Marshall, sisters-in-law June Cramer and Irena Cramer, brothers-in-law Merle and Don Robinson.

A service to celebrate Patty's life will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Pharisburg United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Joseph Rhea. Burial will follow at Claibourne Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

The family is incredibly grateful for the skilled care provided to Patty by caretakers Annie Feasel, Angie Richie, Ella Davis, Phyllis Soller and all of her doting granddaughters.

Memorial gifts may be made to Union County Neighbor to Neighbor, PO Box 278, Marysville, OH 43040 and R.E.A.P. (the Richwood food pantry), 235 Grove Street, Richwood, OH 43344.
