Larry Amos Junior Collins
Larry Amos Junior CollinsCoon DogLarry Amos Junior Collins, 72 of Prospect, died Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He was born January 10, 1952 to the late Amos Polk and Dorothy (Canaday) Collins. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Brokaw.

On June 19, 1982 he married the former Ruth James in the Meeker Methodist Church and she survives in Prospect.

He was a kindhearted man, always willing to help his family and friends. He loved deer hunting and coon hunting with his dogs. Larry enjoyed participating in the coon dog trials in the seventies and had been to every coon hunters club in the state of Ohio.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott Collins, Prospect; two granddaughters, Hannah (Ethan) Madison, Catie (Israel Mena) Collins; a great-grandson, Kyler Madison; a brother, Harold (Donna) Collins, Marengo; sisters, Judy Morrow, Delaware; Ruthann Blair, Thompson; Betty Maroney, Cardington; Alice Vance, Delaware; Rosie Yoho, Sunbury; Donna (Jeff) Gardner, Cardington; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect with Pastor Steve Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in Frame (Meeker) Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Prospect.

Memorial gifts may be given to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).

Ruth, We were so sorry to hear of Larry's passing.  You were such a devoted and loving couple .  You and your family are in our thoughts.
