Judy Lawler
Judy LawlerJudy Lawler, 76 of Richwood, died early Monday morning November 27, 2023 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born January 26, 1947 in Kenton to the late Carl L. and Josephine (Gebhart) Rubeck. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lawler, they were married May 1, 1976 and he died December 24, 1986.

Judy graduated from Richwood High School, class of 1965. She retired May 1, 2010 as Director of the Richwood-North Union Public Library, after 29 years. She had worked for Ohio Wesleyan University before her job in Richwood.
She was of the Catholic faith, having attended the former, St. Joseph’s Church in LaRue and St. Mary Church in Marion.

Surviving are her siblings, Ron (Roberta) Rubeck of Columbia, South Carolina, Larry (Nancy) Rubeck of Bloomfield, Indiana, Robert (Joyce) Rubeck of Lorain and Barb (Bryan) Dusenberry of Howard.
Nieces and nephews, Nathan, Justin, Ashton, Nichole, Annette, Tony, David and Matthew and 12 great nieces and nephews

Funeral Mass will be held Monday December 4, 2023 at 10:30 am at the St. Mary Church in Marion. Fr. Seth Keller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, where there will be a prayer service at 4:00pm.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood-North Union Public Library, 4 East Ottawa St. Richwood, Ohio 43344

Barb & family...it was truly a pleasure to get to know you & Judy. Both, Mom & I will hold fond memories of Judy...her being part of the Judy/Carol duo aka 'Thelma & Louise'. Too bad they never got to enjoy their steak dinner. Thoughts & prayers to your entire family.

Judy was a very good friend. We met a lot of years ago and had lunch together almost every day. And the birthday parties our little group had were so much fun. She took me to buy my black Christmas tree 32 years ago and I still put it up every year. She will be missed.

Barb, Ron, Larry, & Bob, so sorry to hear of Judy's passing.  I have such great memories of the Rubeck family.  Judy was one of our first baby sitters and then we moved so close and the whole Rubeck family raised the Markley kids.  I thinks of you all often and hope you are all doing well.

You all were great neighbors and Judy was my first babysitter.  I’m so sorry I was unable to be at Judy’s calling hours, but please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympathies on Judy's passing. I enjoyed working with Judy at the Richwood Library. Many years Judy hosted the library board at her home for a Christmas dinner.  Always delicious meals and great fellowship. She will be missed.
