Roland F. “Ron” Griffin
Roland F. “Ron” GriffinBaseballRoland F. “Ron” Griffin, 88 of Marion, died Monday November 20, 2023 at his home.

He was born August 29, 1935 in Logan County to the late Leland and Vera (Swartz) Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Constance Marie “Connie” (Parr) Griffin, they were married August 10, 1958 at the Grace Chapel Christian Church in Santa Fe and she died January 25, 2016. He was also predeceased by siblings, Roxy Griffin, Rhonda Van Horn and Terry Griffin.

Ron was retired from the Smith Clinic where he worked for 35 years, retiring in 2000 as the Director of the Lab. He had served our country in the United States Army Reserves. Ron was a longtime member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo.
He was a talented woodworker, even being able to build his own furniture. Ron enjoyed fishing, the Outer Banks and Lake Erie were favorites for him. He also loved keeping up with Major League Baseball, the Detroit Tigers were his go to team. In his younger days, he served the town of Winchester, Indiana as a patrolman.
The true center of his life was his family, he loved spending time with all of them.

Surviving are his sons, Jeffrey L. (Carol) Griffin, Marion; Craig L. (Tara) Griffin, Worthington; four grandchildren, Dan (Alicia) Griffin, Sarah (Greg) Weaver, Alex Griffin, and Elena Griffin; a great-grandson, Cooper Griffin
Sister, Judy (Dan) Spencer of Waynesfield

Graveside services will be held Saturday November 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Waldo Cemetery. Pastor Jennifer Gonsalves will officiate.  Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
