Rodger A. Jones Sr.
Rodger A. Jones Sr.FlagRodger A. Jones Sr., 75 of Richwood, died Monday evening September 11, 2023 at the Marion General Hospital.

He was born June 6, 1948 in Columbus to the late Jess Jones and Virginia (Baker) Dailey, he was also preceded in death by a son, Rodger Jones Jr. and siblings, Jess Jones and Evelyn Adkins.

Rodger was retired from the State Prison System, having worked at Lima in the safety/sanitation Dept. for 28 years. He had served our country in the United States Navy. Rodger had also worked for the Richwood Police Dept.

He was a very devoted family man. He and his wife Judy were always together. He cherished his time with his wife, kids and grandkids.
Rodger was a huge OSU Buckeye fan. He also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing cornhole.

Surviving is his wife, Judy A. (Boyd) Jones, they were married November 29, 1969 in Toledo. Also surviving are their children, Rhonda Carter of Maryville, Dawn (William) Sampley of Newberry, Florida, Gary (Ashleigh Balderaz) Carter of West Minster and William “Tony” Jones of Richwood
Grandchildren, Rose, Tiffany, Donald, Kimberlee, Paige, Anthony, Jay, Xanadu, Abby, Castine, David, Michael, Jeremy, Zach and Ashlee and numerous great grandchildren
Sister, Judy Rodman of Prospect

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends to celebrate Rodger’s life on Friday September 15, 2023 beginning at 12 noon at the Richwood Park, Shelter House #3 where Military Honors will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of Ohio #1095.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood is assisting the family.
