Dorothy Jane (Watkins) Skeele
Dorothy Jane (Watkins) SkeeleMusicNotesDorothy Jane (Watkins) Skeele, 97, passed away on August 12, 2023 while residing at Embassy Nursing Care of Marion. She was born on March 9, 1926 to Samuel and Nellie (Williamson) Watkins of LaRue.
She was married to James Robert Skeele who died April 18, 2007. They had a wonderful life cruising many times on the Queen Mary to England and also experienced a flight on the Concord. She loved decorating her home, painting and playing her small organ. She would even compose her own songs, but her favorite pass time was genealogy.

She was predeceased by five siblings, Richard & Robert Watkins, Wilma I Rosebrough, Marjorie Foreman and Fern (Beidler) Smith.

Dorothy, also known as Dot, or Dottie, was a very devout Christian. She never had any children of her own but she had plenty of nieces & nephews to take care of her in her senior years.

There will be one hour of viewing at 11:00 on Wednesday, August 16, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST in Upper Arlington. The service will immediately follow at 12:00 with burial at 1:00 at Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity of your choice.

Dorothy and I spent some interesting times researching our Robertson ancestors.  I'm of the opinion some interesting stories can be found among her material.  I believe the young man we had trouble identifying was Uncle Joe's son who went west and never came back.  Lenna Parish mentions him in her history.
