I am saddened by the news of the passing of Kevin. We were first cousins and I spent many summers on the farm and hanging with my cousins. I went to school with him when I was visiting and was proud to be related to the Hooks and Speyer’s. Kevin always came to weddings and graduations. Family was very important to him. He was always ready to help in any situation. He will be missed.  When I’m in town we always had a bologna sandwich at Waldo. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I graduated with Kevin and lost touch after graduating.  He was one of the first people to speak to me when I attended our 40th alumni several years ago.  Since that reunion, I have felt more connected to my classmates than I could have imagined.  He will be missed.

We first met John thru Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Marion County where John served as long time Board Member and Volunteer.  We spent many an agency activity together but our best had to be our annual Bowl for Kids Sake when we let our hair down and enjoyed the hoot!  Rest In Peace Dear Friend.

My sympathies to Kevin's family and friends at this difficult time. I have known Kevin since kindergarten. We'd chat for a minute when our paths crossed at Honda. He went by John at Honda because that's what the company embroidered on his shirts. It confused people when I called him Kevin, and they'd correct me, telling me his name was John! He was also a good neighbor to my aunt. Kevin was always a friendly, nice guy, but I had no idea of all the impressive good works that he did. Thank you for your service to others, Kevin. Rest in peace.
