Jim Slone
Jim SloneFlagJim Slone, 79 of Richwood, died Thursday May 4, 2023 at the Memorial Hospital in Marysville.

He was born September 24, 1943 in Knott County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Irene (Hall) Slone. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jeanette A. Jones, they were married May 5, 1985 in Marion and she died January 9, 2017. He was also predeceased by a brother, Carl D. Slone.

Jim served our country in the United States Army. He was a talented carpenter who could fix about anything. He also had a passion for cars, he bought and sold many cars over the years at his own dealerships. Maybe a little gruff on the outside, Jim was soft on the inside. He was a fan of both the OSU Buckeyes and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Surviving are his step children, Patricia L. (Scott Cloud) Titus of Richwood, Julie A. (Walter) Van Brimmer of Ostrander, Jodie B. (Richard Murphy) Jones of Magnetic Springs and Steve E. (Loretta) Jones of Richwood
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
Siblings, Michael (Tammy) Slone of Knott County, Kentucky, Howard (Dottie) Slone of Tampa, Florida and Linda Slone of Knott County, Kentucky

Family services will be held at a later date at the Slone-Hall Cemetery in Knott County, Kentucky.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood is assisting the family.

Jim was a good guy. He offered me a car bc he knew I had a bunch of kids & no ride. I never did go get it but that's the kind of man he was. He's always been good to me. I worked up at the bar & he was always there to help out. I'd stop by & see him when I was able. He was a little ruff on the outside but to those who knew him, he had a heart of gold. I will deeply miss him. He was such a good man. Jim was truly a man's man but again deep down he was an old softy. I loved ya Jim, you will be thought of fondly & missed dearly.
