Ivan Ray Speakman
Ivan Ray SpeakmanUnion County EngineerIvan Ray Speakman, 63 of Richwood, died Monday May 1, 2023 at OSU East in Columbus.

He was born July 14, 1959 in Delaware to the late Ray and Cinda (Nelson) Speakman.

Ivan was a 1978 graduate of the North Union High School. He was retired from the Union County Engineers Office, where he worked for 30 years. Ivan was a hard worker. He loved his family and dogs. He was especially good to his mom when she was living and needed a little bit of extra care. Ivan will be remembered as a true family man.

Surviving is his wife, Lana Carmen (Fletcher) Speakman, they were married November 11, 1984 in Byhalia. Also surviving are their children, Eric (Laura Nelson) Speakman of Galloway and Becky (William Chapman) of Marion. Grandchildren, Harmony Speakman, Gavin Chapman and Landen Chapman, brother, Lloyd (Teresa) Speakman of Floral City, Florida

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 9, 2023 at 12 noon at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Burial will follow in the Byhalia Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 11 am at the funeral home in Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to the funeral home to help the family with unexpected expenses.

Sorry to hear about Ivan he was a classmate with sarcasm that would make you laugh. And I worked with him at the county for 20 years and very dependable

Ivan could always make me laugh. Many memories over the years of spending  time with him and his family. Carmen and kids,Ivan loved you all so much. Just know that you have the support ofyour friends and family. Love you guys.

I grew up with Ivan. He lived just down the road from us. He always had a smile on his face and a friendly hello to everyone. So glad that Ivan and his family lived down the road. May you rest in peace Ivan.

Ivan was a wonderful person.I knew him growing up and him being a part of the family. He was the backbone of the family. He love his family so very much . He be missed but not forgottten.

Lloyd, I am so sorry and shocked to hear about Ivan. I was blessed to have ran into him the week before he passed. He's always been ONE of the big brothers I never had. He will truly be missed. Prayers.
