Debra Ann Underwood
Debra Ann UnderwoodYellowRoseDebra Ann Underwood, 67 of New Bloomington, passed away peacefully Saturday April 1, 2023 at her home after a 2 year battle with cancer.

She was born March 1, 1956 in Redding, California to the late Dwight and Helen (Miller) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Underwood, they were married December 28, 1974 in Cardington and he died July 29, 2020.

She loved spending time with close family and friends. especially when this included going out for a good steak and/or seafood dinner. For several years she and her husband, Ray, would enjoy their special anniversary evening at The Steer Barn. She was an avid reader and embraced the electronic age with her first Kindle, then her iPad and finally graduating to watching YouTube videos. She enjoyed sightseeing and traveling to spend time with her niece and nephew, April and Ricky McKinney of Texas. She loved planting flowers in spring and having her good friend Jenny decorate her house for the holiday seasons.

Surviving are her family, Daughter - Ardena Underwood of New Bloomington, Son - Dwight Underwood of New Bloomington, Grand Daughter - Alivia (Brandon) Christian, Grand Son - Carson Underwood, and three Great Grandchildren Avery, Leroy and Avalynn Christian.
Sister - Tonya Kelly of Oklahoma, and 2 brothers

Graveside services will be held Friday April 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at the LaRue Cemetery, Celebrant Hayden Stofcheck will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.

We worked with Deb at Marion Steel / Nucor for many years. She shared many stories with us, and was just a great person to talk with. She will be missed.
