Greg A. Derouaux |
Greg A. Derouaux, 68 of Richwood, died Saturday February 18, 2023 at the Ohio State University Hospital.
He was born October 27, 1954 in Columbus to Raymond G. Derouaux and Phyllis J. (Beckner).
Greg was a self-employed carpenter; he could fix just about anything with his hands, from plumbing to electric to finish carpentry, he was very talented. Greg had totally remodeled the family home, an 1884 farmhouse.
He liked NASCAR, Mark Martin was a favorite. He cherished his family’s big Christmas dinners; they were incredibly special to him. Greg loved going to the beach, North Carolina was a favorite. He enjoyed helping with 4-H projects. One of his true passions was four-wheeling, even when his health was not the best, he found a way to ride. Greg loved being outside under his tree or in his barn, just soaking in the peacefulness. He had said more than once, "I wish I could have been a farmer"
He was a private person in many ways, but he very much appreciated his friends at the Richwood VFW.
Surviving is his devoted wife, Mari L. (Heffley-Urbanik) Derouaux, they were married January 20, 1984 in Columbus. Also surviving are his children, Jason A. Derouaux of Richwood, Melissa (Keith) Marcum of Grove City and Mindy (George) Tsiopras of Bow, New Hampshire.
Grandchildren, Nathan and Malina Marcum and Isabella and Georgie Tsiopras
His mom, Phyllis J. Ullom of Westerville
Siblings, Diane (Randy) Bolt of The Woodlands, Texas, Dana Derouaux of Westerville and David (Annette) Derouaux of Johnstown
Greg was preceded in death by his father, his step-father, Kenneth Ullom and a brother, Kevin Derouaux

So sorry for your loss Mari. You forgot to mention Greg’s intellect for marrying someone like yourself. He was a calm and brave soul whenever I had the pleasure of spending time with him. You and your family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
