Michael Patrick Anderson
Michael Patrick AndersonBasketball-NCAAMichael Patrick Anderson, 56 of Marion and formerly of Prospect, died Wednesday February 1, 2023 in Marion.

He was born September 27, 1966 in Marion to the late Michael P. and Flora Mae (Reaper) Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Anderson and a brother-in-law, Dale Carr.

Special friend, Kim Rauscher
Siblings, Ed (Penny) Roberts, Mark Vaughn, Katie (Mike) Shaffer, Beth (Mike) Lehmann, Barb Carr and Lisa (Dave) Lehman.

I had the privilege to have coached with Mike when I began my coaching career. After losing contact for numerous years we reconnected and began officiating basketball and baseball together. He was always a great mentor and person you could count on at the drop of the hat

This is just so sad. I well remember Mike and Katie spending time in Elgin's library. Mike liked to have a bit of fun, but he was never disrespectful to me or any of the student helpers. He was an awesome athlete, adding excitement to Friday night football and flare to the basketball games.  I used to see him occasionally in the grocery with his young kids; he always spoke to me and seemed to be having fun being a dad.  My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Kindest regards,

Paula Everett
