I was a member of Miss Jo's first Kindergarten class in 1950. What a wonderful time we had! I retired after 30 years in education, and I know Miss Jo was one of the reasons I chose a career in teaching. My sincere sympathy to the Stillings family.

Bob and I move to Richwood three years ago. JoAnn was the first neighbor we met as she got our Spectrum bill by mistake. I would call her from time to time. I especially enjoyed our conversations. Our time was short knowing her but so grateful that we did. Prayers for the family and her many friends.

Trudy, Lisa, Kay, Ron and your extended families: Jo Ann was a hard working, kind, loving person and a great friend whom I love as well as her family. She loved all of you so much! Jo Ann and I shared many conversations, laughs, and good times working together. She is a person that I would never say "no" to. I was always ready to do whatever she asked as I knew it would be fun whether it was a task at the church or her awesome 90th birthday party. It was my joy and honor to be a part of anything she did. I will miss her greatly but I have told Lisa many times how lucky she was to still have her mother. All the more time to make memories together. The community has lost a great person and advocate for children and senior citizens. She did a lot in her 93 years. RIP

I met JoAnn through our mutual work with the PNP’s in Union County. What an inspiration she was. She had a heart for her clients, going out of her way to serve, while still holding them accountable. We shared Pantry lore & sometimes products. JoAnn will leave a big void in the area of North Union compassion ministries.

Sending love and prayers for the Stillings family. Losing a mother is never easy. JoAnn was such an amazing servant of God, working tirelessly to meet the needs of those around her and those God brought across her path. I know her work and example has impacted so many in our community. May the ones she has mentored and served now step up to take her place and carry on her legacy of service and love in our community. You have a truly blessed family!! Wishing you all peace and joy for this Christmas!

We are sorry to hear about your mom’s death, but we are so happy to celebrate her life! She was my 2nd grade teacher and mother of a good friend during school days (Kay). Later we reconnected via Facebook and she continued to be an encourager. She even came to hear me preach once at the Claibourne UMC. She had a great capacity to love and support—as well as to teach—her students. Thank the Lord for bringing her into our lives. God bless you Kay and everyone.

Always busy working to serve the community is how I remember her in recent years. I would see her at the Civic Center passing out commodity boxes or at the dollar store buying dozens & dozens of bottles of dish soap for the Personal Needs Pantry. She did slow down enough to enjoy Hallmark movies, though, always with a happy ending.
Lisa, she was so proud of you & Emily, excitedly showing me photos of her trip to NYC. I am so sorry for your loss. Wishing you & your whole family comfort & peace as I keep you in my thoughts.

Oh, what a wonderful mother you were honored to have. Her love for all of her family and friend and the needs of her community was beyond what most of us can imagine. We have many precious memories of our times together. The Canada fishing trip, camping at Indian Lakr, playing cards, taking dance lessons, enjoying each other's children. I grew up with JoAnn at the Church of Chist and at the Claibourne grange. Our years as teachers were special, too. God bless each of you and enjoy the memories. Love you.

Aunt Joey was a lifelong inspiration to my sister and me. She was our connection to our mother, her sister. She constantly offered a great example of unconditional love and caring. She instilled my love of reading and education. Her very active faith and care for her family and community was inspirational to many. We treasured the time we spent with her on their farm during our summer vacations. Her experience and wisdom became our role model. How we will miss her!!!
