Linda Litteral McCoy
Linda Litteral McCoyGardening VegetableLinda Litteral McCoy, 78 of LaRue, died Friday, November 4, 2022 at Marion Manor.

She was born February 2, 1944 in Big Island to the late Bernie and Mildred (Goad) Litteral. On April 28, 1979 she married James Edward McCoy and he died May 13, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jason McCoy, a daughter, Tracey Lynn Brown, a great-grandson, Braden Lee McEntire Johnson, two brothers, Jimmy Ray Goad, Bernie E. Litteral, and a sister, Edith E. Young.

A graduate of Ridgedale High School, she worked at Quaker Oats for over 20 years until the plant shut down. She was a proud union member who enjoyed traveling the country representing her fellow workers. After that she worked at Carroll’s Jewelers in Marion and then for the Marion County Auditor’s office where she retired in 2006. She was proud woman, social butterfly and strong advocate for women’s rights. She believed in American democracy and never missed election day.

One of her joys in life was drinking ice cold Coca Cola. She had a great sense of humor, and her favorite saying was, “My name is Linda, and I’m Coke addict.” She had expensive taste in clothing and loved shopping, and she was very knowledgeable with jewelry.  She was adventurous and loved being in the mountains, Tennessee being one of her favorite places to be. She enjoyed her garden, her favorite crop being tomatoes. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by two sons, James McCoy, Mt. Gilead; Jeffrey (Lisa) McCoy, Marion; a daughter, Paula McCoy, Mt. Gilead; a sister, Marie Snyder, Lima; grandchildren, Desire McEntire, Denise (Jeremy) Potts Lehman, Kristopher McCoy, Mike McCoy, Tyler McCoy, Sydney McCoy, Tommy McCoy, Kayla McCoy, Riley McCoy, Connor McCoy; great-grandchildren, Reagan McKitrick, Zackary McKitrick, and Derrik Brown.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue with Pastor Jeff Ridenour officiating. Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.

RIP dear Linda. I hope you are at peace and happy reuniting with Jimpa, Tracey, and all the others you lost and missed so much. I will always remember the wonderful times we had when you came to visit. I love you and will forever miss you. Desire and Denise, I am so sorry you are experiencing yet another profound loss. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that you took care of her in such difficult circumstances and remember the good times you shared. I love you guys.
